Online case reporting is now a reality thanks to Source BioScience’s online pathology centre that allows pathologists to report on cases and submit them without waiting for the couriers speeding up the entire specimen examination process.

The Online Pathologist Centre is part of a much larger web based application being developed internally which allows Source Bioscience to co-ordinate their labs and clinicians.
The Online Pathologist Centre incorporates many of the latest technologies and techniques to offer an easy-to-use interface to the pathologists reporting on supplied cases.
The key features of Source Bioscience Online Pathologist Centre are:
- VASCO key fob security token integration (the user has a personal key fob which generates a random number which is authenticated along with their username/password by the server)
- Dashboard overview of the pathologist's cases/workload
- A staged authorisation process to ensure the pathologist is happy with the report
- A highly interactive interface which allows the user to report on one or more specimens at a time
- Custom pathologist reports (pathologists can create their own and share with other pathologists)
- AJAX search functionality -searching the database of possible diagnosis
- Automated and real-time PDF/Microsoft Word export functionality
We worked closely with Source Bioscience's internal development team to develop the Online Pathologist Centre which freed up the internal development team to continue development on other areas of the system.
